Toys Needed for LAPD Winter Wonderland

“Greetings All,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Please find attached the updated Winter Wonderland Flyer.  This year I’m happy to report we have the LA Kings Ice Crew and Universal is bringing “Stewart” the Minion this year.
Every year Pacific provides a fun filled memorable event for 3,000 needy children.
We are in need of toys.   As I stated previously some Block Captains are collecting from their neighborhood and taking to the station.
Anyone can drop off an unwrapped new toy at the station front lobby or there are many barrels all over the area that say “LAPD Pacific” toy drive.
Neighborhood Councils can participate and support by making a monetary donation or donating toys.
Anyone can also donate at the Pacific Area’s Booster’s website here:  DonateWinterWonderland2016
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions.

2016 Earth Day LA flyer - FINAL SP

LA Sanitation is hosting its first annual citywide Earth Day LA event to be held on Saturday, April 23rd from 9am to 2pm, at Hansen Dam Park, just outside Discovery Cube Los Angeles. The theme is Zero Waste – One Water.  We hope that you, your family, friends, and neighbors will join us for this FREE celebration!

We’ll have a DJ and local performers on stage as well as a community bike ride/walk and a local neighborhood clean-up.  We’ll bring our collection trucks for the kids, and our City partners are bringing other vehicles, including a police cruiser and fire truck!  We’ll also have a variety of booths, games, mascots, educational materials, and free mulch & plants as well as other giveaways.

At our Scavenger Hunt, kids will be encouraged to “Take the Eco Challenge” and leave with at least 3 Earth-friendly tips that they can implement immediately at home. Those who complete the hunt will make an environmental pledge, have a quick photo session, get a free smoothie coupon, and be entered to win a family 4-pack of tickets to the Discovery Cube.

The first 1000 attendees to check in at our Information Booth will receive a free pass to Discovery Cube Los Angeles!  All are welcome and event admission is FREE!

Our staff will be grilling from 10:30 am to 1 pm, and serving ice cream & popsicles. We also have a Kids Corner by the library with activities and pony rides.

This event couldn’t happen without our key partners – Council District 7, Discovery Cube Los Angeles, Recreation & Parks, Los Angeles Public Library, LAPD, LAPD Cadets, Park Rangers, CicLAvia, and City Plants.  We’re truly grateful for the partnership and look forward to an educational day of Earth-friendly fun on April 23!
